Goldenloch Belvedere Bracken MH WCX (Bracken)

Golden Retriever Stud

Bracken» Bracken's Pedigree and Genetic Information

Bracken is owned by Deborah Porth Blackwell and, when not in training, is the primary hunting dog for Joe Eddie Blackwell, who owns JEBCO Outfitters in Crockett, Texas. When hunting, he is well mannered in the duck blind and completely focused on his job. He can be relied upon to get even the most difficult retrieves. He has one of those outstanding leaping water entries.

Bracken was bred by Mercedes Hitchcock with an exceptionally strong field background going back to the English lines. He is a grandson of AFC Holway Barty.

Bracken came to the Miners as a five year old for training in 2001, and within four months earned his AKC Senior Hunter title. After another four months, he earned his first AKC Master Hunter qualification. He then took a three month hunting vacation to Texas and his return brought two additional MH qualifications. Bracken earned his AKC Master Hunter title in fine style at the Bootheel Retriever Club hunt test in October 2002. The next goal was to qualify for the 2003 Master National, which was held in Thomasville, Georgia in November 2003. In the meantime, he earned a Reserve Jam in the Qualifying stake at the Madison Retriever Club Field Trial in August 2003. He successfully made it through 7 days of tests to be one of 147 out of 353 dogs entered to be a 2003 Master National Finalist. He will stay in training at the Miners with the next goal to qualify and run the 2004 Master National.

John Miner handles Bracken and says he is always proud to walk to the line with Bracken. Bracken is a joy to watch and train, he has unequalled heart and desire. He is forgiving of corrections and does not hold a grudge or pout. These qualities are readily apparent when you are fortunate enough to see him work.

Bracken has been bred four times. His first litter was born in 2001 and so far has produced four Senior Hunters (all are currently running at the Master level), a CDX and several Junior Hunters. The other litters also appear to be producing well.

Bracken would be a significant asset to any breeding program, and is at stud to approved bitches.
